In our second installment, we sat down with Dale Earnhardt Jr., the co-owner of FilterTime. The community has questions, and Dale Jr. has the answers.

1. What's the first thing you do every day?
I go into my little girl’s room to see her. She’s 16 months old and usually has a huge smile on her face in the morning. She’s thrilled to see you, so that’s always the best way to start the day.
2. What are some habits that have made you successful?
Stubbornness. Being unsatisfied. Wanting to win at everything. I think wanting to win comes from being under the microscope. You don’t want to fail on a grand stage. You also don’t want to let down those who support you.
3. Have you ever made a decision that changed your entire life?
I hope I’m making those every day. Obviously making the decision to follow my father into auto racing was a big one. Also marrying my wife and starting our family were the biggest life changing events.
4. What's your favorite all time purchase?
I have a few vehicles that I love. A 1948 pickup and a 1976 Chevy Laguna. But my vacation home in Florida is by far the best money I’ve spent.
5. Who has been your biggest inspiration?
My father was a big one. But lately it’s my daughter Isla. Her and my wife Amy inspire me to be the best person I can be.
6. What's the best advice you've ever received?
My dad was big on education. I hope I can encourage my daughter to be more focused than I was in school. I also am a big believer in saving money – putting a good bit back for the future. I hope I’ve done a good job of creating a good situation financially for my family for generations to come.
7. With all you have going on, how do you stay organized?
I’m a big note taker. I also depend on a lot of hard working folks to help keep things on track.
8. Who gave you the best business advice?
That’s a tough one to answer. There are a lot of people who have helped me from a business standpoint. The two main ones who come to mind are my sister Kelley and my friend Rick Hendrick.
9. What do you like doing in your free time?
I love taking trips with my family. Spending time with my wife and daughter or a group of friends is at the top of my list.
10. What do you want to leave behind for your child/children?
I’d love to put them in a comfortable position financially. But most important I want to instill good morals and values so that they treat others with love and respect.
11. What would be a good theme song for your life?

12. Do you believe FilterTime will be a household name before long?
Absolutely. My friend and partner Blake and I are determined to create an amazing brand and business. Blake’s passion along with his personality are what inspired me to join the team. I think I’ll look back on that decision one day as one of the best I’ve made professionally.
