Nascar Race Events Coming up in Charlotte, NC

This weekend kicks off race weekend in Charlotte. The All-Star race will be happening Saturday night and the following week will include a ton of events leading up to the Coca-Cola 600 over Memorial Day Weekend. With so many events happening in Charlotte, NC this weekend, we have created a rundown of some of the great events happening.

The weekend events start this Friday, May 17th with the All-Star Race Qualifying rounds and the Gander Outdoor Truck Series race, the NC Education Lottery 200. This event will take place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The truck race will include new names to the sport, as well as, names you will recognize. As a shorter race, you will see a lot of action!

The next night, Saturday, May 18th will host the All-Star Race. This awesome race event also takes place at Charlotte Motor Speedway and is the biggest All-Star event in all of sports. With the opportunity to win one million dollars with a victory, drivers will be pedal to the medal the entire race. This race will include all of the best Monster Energy Nascar drivers over the past 2018 or 2019 season. You won’t want to miss this wheel-to-wheel, all-out action for the race to win the money and bragging rights. Not to mention, an opening concert by AJR, last-chance qualifying laps, and a closing concert by Hairball on the infield.

Later in the week, starting May 23 will kick-off the 25th annual Circle K’s Speed Street brought to you by Coca-Cola in Uptown Charlotte. Speed Street runs from May 23-25 from 12 pm to 8 pm daily. The festival hosts live music, vendors, and race-related family fun. There will be games, face-painting, food, and activities throughout the event each day.

Spectrum Pole Night will take place in the evening during Speed Street on May 23rd at 7:10 PM at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Pole Night is the deciding factor of which drivers will qualify to race in the Coca-Cola 600. Drivers will be driving individually around the track at top speeds for a chance to participate in the big race on Sunday, May 26th. Following Pole Night, there will be a short race of rising stars in the General Tire 150.

The Nascar Xfinity Race, Alsco 300, will take place on Saturday, May 25th. The Xfinity Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the afternoon and will host all of the regular, top name Xfinity race car drivers.

Finally, on Sunday, May 26th at Charlotte Motor Speedway is the race everyone will be waiting for. All the events in Charlotte will lead up to this Sunday night race under the lights with rubber flying. The Coca-Cola 600 will host the Monster Energy Nascar drivers fighting it out to win. The race events will begin at 6:00 PM, but there will be events at the track all day. There will be vendors, games, practice rounds, pre-race concerts, a military tribute, and so much more. Keep in mind you can bring in food and drinks, so pack a cooler and bring the family out for fun all day.
